Welcome 2013, Good Bye 2012

Tomorrow is the first day of the year 2013. People will say Good Bye to 2012 and welcome the year 2013. People are planning how they will enjoy the new year. Some had enjoyed the year 2012 but some were sad with this year. Let us take a look on the year 2012.

The biggest achievement of this year was that six AIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) were started in India. The next one was that this year also there wasn't any polio case in India. In the previous year also, our country was polio free.

Now if we go through the the films, many films were released in this year. Many films were kept in 100 crores' category. Many films were also flopped. In this year Azmal Kasab was hanged to death for the Mumbai Attack on 26th November 2008. In this year, Bombay High Court celebrated 150 years of its mansion's construction. It is one of the oldest High Court in India.

Now have a look on sports. In the year 2012, Sachin said good bye to one day cricket. Yuvraaj Singh returned to the cricket field getting over cancer. In this year, Microsoft had launched Windows 8 Operating System which was liked by many people. These all were the achievements of 2012. This year also filled us with sorrow. The victim of Delhi gangrape died. People payed homage to that girl.

ENJOY THE NEW YEAR....2013...

The Ganges

The Ganges or Ganga, is a trans-boundary river of India and Bangladesh. The 2,525 km (1,569 mi) river rises in the western Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, and flows south and east through the Gangetic Plain of North India into Bangladesh, where it empties into the Bay of Bengal. By discharge it ranks among the world's top 20 rivers. The Ganges basin is the most heavily populated river basin in the world, with over 400 million people and a population density of about 1,000 inhabitants per square mile (390 /km2).

The Ganges is the most sacred river to Hindus and is also a lifeline to millions of Indians who live along its course and depend on it for their daily needs. It is worshiped as the goddess Ganga in Hinduism. It has also been important historically: many former provincial or imperial capitals (such as Patliputra, Kannauj, Kara, Kashi, Allahabad, Murshidabad, Munger, Baharampur and Kolkata) have been located on its banks.

The Ganges was ranked among the five most polluted rivers of the world in 2007, with fecal coliform levels in the river near Varanasi more than hundred times the official Indian government limits.Pollution threatens not only humans, but also more than 140 fish species, 90 amphibian species and the endangered Ganges river dolphin. The Ganga Action Plan, an environmental initiative to clean up the river, has been a major failure thus far,due to corruption and lack of technical expertise, lack of good environmental planning,Indian traditions and beliefs, and lack of support from religious authorities.

  • The accelaration of an object is the change in velocity per unit time.

  • Uniform an non-uniform motions of objects can be shown through graphs.

  • If an object moves in a circular path with uniform speed, its motion is called uniform circular motion.
