• The first recorded surgerical operation done under anaesthetia was to remove a cyst from a man's neck.This took place in Georgia,USA in 1842.The surgeon used 'Ether' as the anaesthetia.

• The most surgerical operation done in one working day were 833 cataract operation formed by Dr. M.C. Modi in India.

• The smallest surgerical instruments are used for eye operation and have only 0.3 mm  long blade.
